NEW ROCHELLE, NY (March 28, 2026) — The New Rochelle Public Library Foundation has launched a campaign to bring soundproof music practice pods to the New Rochelle Public Library, aiming to provide free, accessible practice space for students and professional musicians.
The New Rochelle Council on the Arts said the pods are already in use in libraries in Seattle and New York City but would be the first of their kind in Westchester County.
According to the announcement, the practice pods will offer space for students and professional musicians “in need of practice space.”
The foundation said the effort is supported by a leadership gift from the Kylie and Louis Cappelli Foundation, with fundraising underway to install the practice rooms in the library by the fall.
