Rye Brook Man Arraigned on Attempted Murder Charges Following Westview Avenue Incident

RYE BROOK, NY (March 30, 2026) — A Rye Brook man has been arraigned on charges of 2nd Degree Attempted Murder following an incident on Westview Avenue.

On the morning of March 30, Rye Brook Police Department patrol units responded to a call about a dispute at a residence on Westview Avenue. Upon arrival, officers found a 37-year-old female assault victim inside the residence, unconscious and not breathing. Officers began CPR and detained a male present at the scene.

Port Chester Rye Rye Brook EMS arrived shortly thereafter and provided lifesaving measures. The victim remains in critical but stable condition.

Rye Brook Police detectives, with assistance from the Westchester County District Attorney’s Office and the Westchester County Department of Public Safety, launched an investigation. Hugo Soto-Diaz, 30, who resides at the incident address, has been charged with 2nd Degree Attempted Murder and was arraigned at Rye Town Court. He is currently held at the Westchester County Jail.
