NEW ROCHELLE, NY (April 6, 2026) — Two men have been arrested and charged in connection with a multiple-shooter gunfire exchange on April 4 in New Rochelle, police said.

Detectives with the New Rochelle Police Department identified and arrested two suspected shooters following the incident in the 50 block of Colonel Lee Archer Boulevard and at the intersection of Jacquetta Cole Street and Colonel Lee Archer Boulevard.

Bergen County Sheriff’s Office

Jeremy Maybury, 35, of New Rochelle, was located at a hospital in Englewood, New Jersey. Detectives filed an extraditable warrant for his arrest. He is currently being held in the Bergen County Jail as a fugitive from justice, according to jail records, after being committed on April 5, 2026, on an out-of-state warrant issued by New Rochelle authorities. He is being held without bail pending extradition to New York.

UPDATE: TAPinto Fair Lawn/Glen Rock has reported additional details, that Maybury was taken into custody at Englewood Hospital and Medical Center after arriving there with a minor arm wound at about 11:45 p.m., according to Englewood Police Detective Capt. Renee LaRaia. Englewood police arrested him at the hospital on an extraditable fugitive-from-justice warrant, and he was subsequently booked into the Bergen County Jail in Hackensack. An extradition hearing was expected Tuesday, April 7, in Superior Court in Hackensack.

Anthony Parris, 35, of New Rochelle, was arrested at his residence in New Rochelle.

Parris was arraigned April 6 in New Rochelle City Court before Judge Jared R. Rice and pleaded not guilty, according to court records. Bail was set at $60,000 cash, $100,000 bond, or $150,000 partially secured bond. The case was adjourned to April 10 for a felony hearing. He was remanded to the Westchester County Department of Correction in Valhalla on April 6.

Both men were charged with criminal possession of a weapon in the second degree, a Class C felony, and reckless endangerment in the first degree, a Class D felony, under New York State Penal Law.

As previously reported by police, officers responded to calls of shots fired, and witnesses described an exchange of gunfire between multiple shooters. Numerous shell casings were recovered at the scene.

Police said no residents or innocent bystanders were injured. Detectives now confirm that two occupied homes and several unoccupied vehicles were struck by gunfire during the incident, but no injuries were reported.

31 Jacquetta Cole Place and at 65 and 61 Horton Avenue

A source previously told Talk of the Sound that gunfire entered residences at 31 Jacquetta Cole Place and at 65 and 61 Horton Avenue, and struck a vehicle on Horton Avenue. Police have not publicly confirmed those specific addresses.

Authorities also confirmed that Maybury — the suspect located in New Jersey — was grazed by a bullet.

“We avoided a tragedy Saturday night. This reckless disregard for the lives and for the safety of New Rochelle residents will not be tolerated. We are committed to holding those responsible for reckless and dangerous gun violence accountable. These swift arrests demonstrate that commitment,” Police Commissioner Neil K. Reynolds said. “We will continue to pursue every lead to ensure all individuals involved are identified and arrested.”

The incident occurred near a block party barbecue at Heritage Homes earlier that evening. Police said children had been present during the gathering, but most, if not all, had left by the time the shooting occurred. Some youths may have been in a nearby playground or basketball court area, though police said there were no reports of anyone in the immediate vicinity of the gunfire.

Separately, police said they received unconfirmed reports of a robbery in the vicinity of the Bracey Apartments on the Harrison Street side involving a victim being pistol-whipped. However, no victim came forward and no official report was filed. Police said the incident appears unrelated to the shooting at this time.

Police also said they are examining whether the incident may have a gang-related nexus.

The investigation remains ongoing.
