NEW ROCHELLE, NY (April 15, 2026) — A New Rochelle man has pleaded guilty in a case involving assault with intent to cause serious injury with a weapon and possession of a loaded firearm in New Rochelle. The case was heard in Westchester County Court.

The plea agreement resulted in the top charge of assault with intent to cause serious injury with a weapon, while other charges related to possession of a loaded firearm were adjusted to lesser charges during the proceedings.

Hairston was arrested on September 24, 2025, by the New Rochelle City Police Department. The case’s prosecution is being handled by the Westchester County District Attorney’s Office.

Prosecutors alleged that on Sept. 24, 2025, Kenneth Hairston fired at a vehicle near Webster Avenue and Remington Place in New Rochelle. Officers later recovered the firearm from inside a couch. A Westchester County grand jury subsequently indicted him on one count of attempted assault in the first degree and two counts of criminal possession of a weapon in the second degree.

During the last court appearance on April 15, 2026, Interim Probation Supervision was ordered, and reports and investigations were requested.

The case has been adjourned for compliance and is scheduled for a follow-up appearance on July 22, 2026, before Judge Anne B. Bianchi.
