33 Graduates Complete Park Police Academy in Saratoga Springs

SARATOGA SPRINGS, NY (April 30, 2026) — The New York State Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation announced the graduation of 33 new officers from the 20th Basic School of the Park Police Academy.

The ceremony took place at the Hall of Springs at Saratoga Spa State Park. Recruits completed six months of residential training in Rensselaerville, Albany County.

Training and Assignments

New officers will be assigned across New York’s 250 state parks, historic sites, and recreational facilities. Training included instruction in criminal and park law, investigations, police procedures, and hands-on skills like firearms and emergency response.

“Today, we recognize 33 new officers who have stepped up to protect the people of New York,” Acting Commissioner Kathy Moser said.

Park Police Chief Michael Daddona congratulated the graduates, highlighting the importance of their family support and the transition to joining a dedicated family of officers.

Officer Kevin Culhane of New Windsor received the Leadership Award, Officer Justin Atristain of East Elmhurst received the Academic Achievement Award, Officer Dylan Doskocil of Staten Island received the Physical Fitness Award, and Officer Casey Dailey of Goshen received the Firearms Proficiency Award.
