NEW ROCHELLE, NY (May 17, 2026) — The City of New Rochelle announced the restoration of the historic bridge at Ward Acres Park following masonry repairs, stone removal and resetting, and weatherproofing work completed by Department of Public Works crews.
According to the city, the bridge restoration was part of the Ward Acres Capital Improvement Project.
City officials said the project was funded through a New York State Trails Grant along with matching city funds.
In a statement, the city credited “the hard work of DPW crews” for completing the restoration work at the park.
