New Rochelle GOP Publicises Political Meeting, Contrasting with Democrats

NEW ROCHELLE, NY (June 10, 2026) — The New Rochelle Republican City Committee will hold an open meeting Thursday, June 25, at 7 p.m. at Halligan Hall in the lower church of Holy Name of Jesus, 75 Lispenard Avenue.

The gathering is open to NRGOP committee members as well as like-minded voters. An agenda item includes a discussion with Al Tarantino, the party’s lone City Council representative. Candidates for other offices in this fall’s elections will also attend.

City council races are scheduled for next year. Those interested in running are asked to make their intentions known.

The New Rochelle GOP City Committee invited residents to “join us June 25 at 7 p.m. at Halligan Hall — and bring a friend.”

New Rochelle Democrats have claimed their meetings are “open and publicized” but do not tell the public about them.

Committee chair Denise P. Ward has previously said general party meetings are noticed by email and social media, and that residents can be added to the notification list by emailing the committee or contacting any officer. “Other than DL meetings, we do allow non-GOP registered people to attend,” Ward said.

Denise P. Ward is chair, Joseph I. Farca is vice chair, Kira Leid-King is treasurer and Aidan G. Clark is secretary.
