NEW ROCHELLE, N.Y. (June 15, 2026) — New Rochelle High School’s theatre program has received five nominations for the Helen Hayes Youth Theatre Metro Awards, which recognize outstanding high school musical theater productions, performers, and creative teams in Westchester and Rockland Counties.
The nominations, announced May 18, recognize work from the school’s 2026 production of “Firebringer.” The nominees are:
Outstanding Performance in a Featured Female-Identified Role: Juliana LoPresti as Chorn
Outstanding Achievement in Music Direction: Christopher Russo
Outstanding Achievement in Graphic Design: Ariana Williamson, Caitlin Nation, Emma Wert, Keira DeNigris, Percy Marcantonio, Quintin Young, and Wren Wert
Outstanding Achievement by a Student Stage Manager: Sophia D’Erasmo
GOTTS Student Technician Scholarship Nominee: Sebastian Gialerakis
“This production was such a special experience for our students, and it is incredibly meaningful to see their work recognized in this way,” said Anthony Stirpe, the production’s director and the school’s theatre and film teacher. “We could not be more proud of our students, staff, and creative team.”
The sold-out Metro Awards Ceremony is scheduled for Monday, June 15, at 7:30 p.m. at the Purchase College Performing Arts Center.
