NEW ROCHELLE, NY (June 18, 2026) — Eight members of the New Rochelle Police Department were promoted in a ceremony held Thursday at City Council Chambers, attended by family, friends, colleagues, residents and City officials.

City Manager Wilfredo Melendez highlighted that the promotions reflect the qualities demonstrated by the officers in their service. “Promotions are not simply rewards for past performance,” said Melendez. “They are investments in the future of our organization here in New Rochelle.”

Police Commissioner Neil K. Reynolds addressed the officers, particularly the four being promoted to their first supervisory roles as sergeant. “The most important lesson of supervision is understanding that the job is no longer about you,” Reynolds said. “It’s about the officers you lead.”

The officers promoted were: Captain Nicholas Zuzulo, Lieutenants Robert Johnson, Joseph Salerno, and Dwayne Jones, and Sergeants Joseph Vieira, Za’quawn Griset, Stephen Parker, and Deivy Martinez.
