Written By: Robert Cox

NEW ROCHELLE, NY (July 16, 2023) — A Stamford, Conn., window contractor filed a $5,500 mechanic’s lien against Robert Rubicco’s home at 3 Kensington Oval in New Rochelle after Rubicco allegedly paid only half of an $11,000 bill for window removal and replacement work, according to records filed with the Westchester County Clerk.

A mechanic’s lien is a legal claim filed against a property by a contractor or supplier who performed work or provided materials but was not paid, and it can cloud the property’s title and complicate any future sale or refinancing until it is resolved.

The lien, Index No. 185-2013, was filed June 12, 2013, by Vinylume, Inc., 2041 W. Main St., Stamford, CT 06902. The filing names Robert Rubicco as the property owner and the person with whom the contract was made. According to the lien, the work consisted of the removal of old windows and the furnishing and installation of new replacement windows, performed Feb. 18-19, 2013.

The total agreed price and value of the labor and materials furnished was $11,000, according to the lien. The amount unpaid at the time of filing was $5,500, which is also the total amount claimed.

The property subject to the lien is identified as 3 Kensington Oval, New Rochelle, NY 10805, Section 1, Block 115, Lot 65, in the County of Westchester, State of New York.

The lien was signed June 12, 2013, by a vice president of Vinylume, Inc., and verified by Jon Fleming, an officer of the company, in the State of Connecticut, County of Fairfield. The lienor was represented by Anthony Iaconis, Esq., of Diserio Martin O’Connor & Castiglioni, LLP, 50 Main St., 10th Floor, White Plains, NY 10606.

An affidavit of service shows the notice of mechanic’s lien was served on Robert Rubicco at 3 Kensington Oval by Federal Express overnight delivery and certified mail on June 20, 2013. A separate affidavit of service, sworn July 8, 2013, shows personal service on Rubicco at 3 Kensington Oval, New Rochelle, at approximately 8:29 a.m. on June 29, 2013, by process server Guy Corcoran of Thomas F. Delaney Inc., Licensed Private Investigators.

Westchester County Clerk records show no satisfaction or discharge of the lien in available records.

The Vinylume lien is at least the second mechanic’s lien filed against the Kensington Oval property. As previously reported by Talk of the Sound, Eastchester Electric Corp. dba Crest Electric & Home Entertainment filed a $4,595.10 mechanic’s lien against the same property in November 2019 after Rubicco allegedly failed to pay for sound system work. That lien also shows no satisfaction in available records.

**Editor’s note:** On July 9, 2026, Robert Cox was served with four plenary summonses issued by the Irish High Court (Record Nos. 3331, 3337, 3338, and 3339/2026P) by Sheehan & Partners LLP on behalf of Rubicco-associated LLCs. Talk of the Sound continues reporting on matters of public record.
