NEW ROCHELLE, NY (July 30, 2026) — Gabriel Hostin, the son of “The View” co-host and former federal prosecutor Sunny Hostin, was charged by the Westchester County District Attorney’s Office on June 16 with one count of trespass under Penal Law § 140.05 in connection with a June 16, 2026, stop by MTA Police on or near Metro-North tracks.
Court records identify the charge as a violation. The charging agency is the MTA Police Department.
Hostin is due in New Rochelle City Court at 9:30 a.m. Friday.
Westchester County District Attorney’s Office Director of Communications & Public Affairs Anna Young said Thursday that Gabriel Hostin is now being represented by defense attorney Teny Geragos not his mother (court records still list Asuncion Cummings Hostin as the retained defense attorney).
Geragos is a founding partner at Agnifilo Intrater LLP and was a member of Sean “Diddy” Combs’ defense team in his federal sex trafficking and racketeering trial, in which the team secured not-guilty verdicts on the most serious charges that carried potential life sentences.
Her father is Mark Geragos, a criminal defense attorney who gained fame representing clients including Michael Jackson, Winona Ryder, Scott Peterson, Hunter Biden, Colin Kaepernick, Mike Tyson, Jussie Smollett, Kesha and the Menendez brothers.
Hostin and Mark Geragos co-hosted a short-run CNN legal program titled Making the Case back in 2014.
Sunny Hostin and her husband Dr. Emmanuel Hostin retained Mark Geragos to fight a major federal RICO and insurance fraud lawsuit filed against her husband by the American Transit Insurance Company. The lawsuit was subsequently dropped with an apology from the insurance company.
In mid-July the New York Post published body-worn camera footage from the June 16 incident showing Hostin being stopped by MTA Police and capturing Sunny Hostin speaking with officers.
