PELHAM MANOR, NY (August 28, 2026) — Pelham Manor has engaged planning and engineering firm AKRF to conduct a Village-Wide Roadway Evaluation and is asking residents to complete a community survey on road conditions and safety, according to a village announcement.
The village said the evaluation is part of its ongoing commitment to public safety, and that engaging the community is a key component of the effort. Officials are asking residents, workers, business owners, students and visitors to share feedback on the village’s roadways.
The survey asks respondents about their connection to Pelham Manor, how often they use village roads and sidewalks for transportation, exercise and leisure, and which transportation modes they use, including driving, walking, biking, scooters, motorcycles, the Bee-Line bus and Metro-North. It also asks residents to identify positive features of village streets worth preserving, top safety concerns such as speeding, traffic congestion, aggressive driving, and pedestrian and bicycle safety, and what improvements they would like to see, including safer crossings, traffic calming, bicycle lanes and enhanced lighting. Respondents are also asked whether they have been involved or nearly involved in a crash in the village, and to mark the nearest intersection to their home or business on a map.
The village noted that survey responses should refer specifically to the Village of Pelham Manor and not surrounding communities.
Residents can also submit specific safety concerns or suggestions using an interactive map link provided in the survey.
Paper copies of the survey are available by contacting Village Hall at 914-738-8820. The village said it will mail a hard copy along with a self-addressed envelope for residents to return by mail.
