LARCHMONT, NY (August 25, 2026) — Drew Nemetz, a swimmer from Port Chester, will attempt to cross the English Channel between October 3 and 7, aiming to raise awareness about clean water in Long Island Sound.
Nemetz will swim 21 miles from Dover to Cap Gris Nez in France through the busy shipping lanes and chilly waters of the Channel. His endeavor supports Save the Sound, an organization focused on protecting the waters that influenced his upbringing.
