NEW ROCHELLE, NY (October 5, 2026) — As part of the 250th anniversary celebration of the American Revolution, New Rochelle will welcome the tall ship Lynx, a replica of a historic privateer ship. The City of New Rochelle, in collaboration with Revolutionary Westchester 250 and its America’s 250 Committee, will host the ship as part of the Revolution on the Sound! events.
Public tours of the Lynx are scheduled for Saturday, October 17, from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the New Rochelle Municipal Marina. Free parking and tickets for the tours will be available at Hudson Park.
Events at Hudson Park
Hudson Park will also feature a mini festival with reenactors portraying figures like General William Howe and John Glover, along with live music, colonial games, and informational booths about the American Revolution.
“Stepping aboard the tall ship Lynx is like stepping back into the past,” said Barbara Davis, New Rochelle City Historian and Executive Director of the Westchester County Historical Society. “The experience will be heightened by encounters with reenactors representing key figures in the Revolutionary War events that took place right here in our own backyard 250 years ago.”
Additional Events
RW250 will continue the celebration with a “Toast 250 Tavern Night” on October 14, and a reenactment of the Battle of Pell’s Point/Pelham on October 18 at Orchard Beach.
