New York State Police Roundup: 17 DWI Arrests, Drug Charges and Highway Crashes Across Sound Shore

NEW ROCHELLE, NY (October 10, 2026) — New York State Police reported 17 arrests on driving while intoxicated charges, several highway crashes involving injuries, three reported hit-and-run incidents and a drug possession arrest in the Sound Shore area and surrounding communities between Sept. 28 and Oct. 9.

The incidents were handled primarily by troopers assigned to the New Rochelle Thruway station, with some reports originating from the Tarrytown Thruway station.

Port Chester: 10 DWI Arrests

State police reported 10 DWI arrests in the Village of Port Chester during the period, involving residents of Port Chester and Connecticut.

On Oct. 9, Misael de Jesus Villalobos, 62, of Port Chester, was arrested at 12:53 a.m. and charged with misdemeanor DWI and operating a motor vehicle with a blood alcohol concentration of 0.08% or more. He was released to a third party.

Two arrests were reported Oct. 5. Harrinson Marlon Luis Carrasco, 23, of Stamford, Connecticut, was arrested at 4:05 a.m. on misdemeanor DWI charges and released to a third party. Luis Enrique Valverde Reyes, 29, of Port Chester, was also charged with DWI and operating a vehicle with a BAC of 0.08% or more. He was issued an appearance ticket.

Three additional arrests were reported Oct. 4:

* Jose Pablo Ceja Reyes, 32, of Port Chester, was arrested at 4:46 a.m. on two misdemeanor DWI charges and issued an appearance ticket.

* Juan J. Toma Perez, 21, of Stamford, was arrested at 3:47 a.m. on misdemeanor DWI charges and released to a third party.

* Caterin Yojana Romero Luis, 27, of Norwalk, Connecticut, was arrested at 2:50 a.m. on misdemeanor DWI charges and issued an appearance ticket.

On Oct. 3, Maria Luisa Veras Rosa, 32, of Stamford, was arrested shortly after 4 a.m. on two misdemeanor DWI charges and released to a third party. Diego Alejandro Ortiz, 39, of Monroe, Connecticut, was arrested at approximately 2:14 a.m. on a misdemeanor DWI charge and issued an appearance ticket.

Two more Port Chester residents were arrested Sept. 29. Jasiel Carretero Ortela, 36, was arrested at 3:45 a.m. and charged with misdemeanor DWI and operating a vehicle with a BAC of 0.08% or more. He was released to a third party. Bryan Keisy Vasquez Gonzalez, 22, was arrested at 2:17 a.m. on similar charges and issued an appearance ticket.

Rye: Two DWI Arrests

Two DWI arrests were reported in Rye on Oct. 3.

Gabriela V. Jimenez, 35, of Port Chester, was arrested at 3:18 a.m. and charged with misdemeanor DWI. She was issued an appearance ticket.

Akauane Santa Marina Silva, 35, of Harrison, was arrested at 1:26 a.m. and charged with misdemeanor DWI and operating a vehicle with a BAC of 0.08% or more. Silva was released to a third party.

New Rochelle: Three DWI Arrests and Five Injured in I-95 Crash

Three motorists were arrested on DWI charges in New Rochelle on Oct. 4.

Darling Jorge, 23, of the Bronx, was arrested at 6:09 a.m. and charged with misdemeanor DWI and operating a vehicle with a BAC of 0.08% or more. Jorge was released to a third party.

Justin William Albert Gonzalez, 24, of Rye Brook, was arrested at approximately 6 a.m. on misdemeanor DWI charges and issued an appearance ticket.

Christian Xavier Vega, 25, of Howard Beach, was arrested at 5:38 a.m. following a single-vehicle incident on Interstate 95. He was charged with misdemeanor DWI and issued an appearance ticket. No injuries were reported.

Later that day, at approximately 9:06 p.m., a three-vehicle crash on I-95 in New Rochelle left five people injured.

The drivers were identified as Kyle Alan Rogers, 22, of Naugatuck, Connecticut; Claudette Whorms, 57, of New Rochelle; and Ezequiel Santiago, 35, of West Hartford, Connecticut. No fatalities were reported. State police listed the incident as closed and cleared.

Mamaroneck: Drug Arrest, Injury Crash and Three Hit-and-Run Reports

On Oct. 7, Katy J. Glinski, 51, of New Rochelle, was arrested in the Village of Mamaroneck at approximately 9:52 p.m. and charged with five counts of seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, a misdemeanor, and one count of third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle.

Glinski was issued an appearance ticket.

On Oct. 4, a two-vehicle crash on I-95 in the Village of Mamaroneck left three people injured. The crash occurred at approximately 12:15 a.m. and involved drivers Wilmer Alfredo Guartatanga Corte, 44, of Elmhurst, and Jose D. Collado Lantigua, 54, of Woodbridge, New Jersey. No fatalities were reported.

State police also reported three hit-and-run incidents involving two vehicles each, with no reported injuries.

On Oct. 2, a hit-and-run was reported at 8:57 a.m. on I-95 in the Village of Mamaroneck. Police identified Colby Lowe Newman, 23, of Burlington, Vermont, as a driver involved in the incident.

On Sept. 30, another hit-and-run was reported at 4:40 p.m. on I-95 in the Town of Mamaroneck. Lindsay Marie Celentano, 33, of the Bronx, was identified as a driver involved.

On Sept. 28, a hit-and-run was reported at 9:02 a.m. on I-95 in the Village of Mamaroneck. Ori A. Ramirez, 20, of Mamaroneck, was identified as a driver involved.

All three incidents were listed as closed and cleared. The reports did not establish that the identified drivers were responsible for leaving the scenes.

Harrison: DWI Arrest Following Three-Vehicle Crash

On Oct. 2, Maria Isabel Bermudez, 24, of the Bronx, was arrested on misdemeanor DWI charges in connection with a three-vehicle incident on I-95 in Harrison.

The crash involved drivers J J Lopez Lopez, 40, of Mamaroneck, and Anxhela Lleshi, 29, of New Rochelle. One person was injured, and no fatalities were reported.

White Plains: New Rochelle Driver Involved in Crash With DWI Arrest

On Oct. 4, a two-vehicle crash on Interstate 287 in White Plains resulted in one injury and a DWI arrest.

Edgar Patricio Castillo Villa, 30, of Bridgeport, Connecticut, was arrested at 5:12 a.m. and charged with misdemeanor DWI and operating a motor vehicle with a BAC of 0.08% or more. He was released to a third party.

The other driver involved was identified as Eric Alberto Rivera of New Rochelle. No fatalities were reported.

Yonkers: Two Injured in Four-Vehicle Crash

On Oct. 7, a four-vehicle crash on Interstate 87 in Yonkers left two people injured.

The collision occurred at approximately 3:12 p.m. and involved Manuel Anibal Contreras, 44, of New Rochelle; Dana Marie Amengual, 49, of Garnerville; Rozina Prenga, 40, of Cortlandt Manor; and Michael Yeechi Sun, 26, of La Cañada, California.

No fatalities were reported. State police listed the crash as closed and cleared.
