NEW ROCHELLE, NY (October 7, 2023) — Trinity Special Education Teacher Ashley Fernandez has been named a winner in the iHeartRadio and Boost Mobile “Thank a Teacher” contest.
Fernandez was nominated by the family of one of her students in grades 1 and 2, who praised her for her dedication and compassionate approach to teaching.
“I was totally surprised and honored,” said Fernandez, who is beginning her fourth year at Trinity. “I love working with all my students through the years. Being a Special Ed teacher, you sometimes get to work with students for more than one year, which is special. I love what I do. I’m very grateful to be considered and recognized. I love being part of the City School District of New Rochelle community, and teaching at Trinity is the best. The families are fantastic, my colleagues are wonderful, and the administration is terrific.”
Fernandez was awarded a certificate and a $500 gift card as part of the prize.
