NEW ROCHELLE, NY (October 31, 2023) — The New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC) has announced an invitation for public comments regarding a Brownfield Cleanup Program application and Draft Remedial Investigation Work Plan for the Shearwood Laundry and Petroleum Site. This site, located at 2 Shearwood Place in New Rochelle, is across the street from Avalon One.
The application, submitted by Two Shearwood Station LLC, is under review by the DEC. Coastal Environmental Solutions, Inc conducted a limited geophysical investigation of the site on April 27, 2023, focusing on soil vapor and soil boring within an undeveloped grass lot.
