HARRISON, NY (September 18, 2023) — Environmental Conservation Officers (ECOs) Franz, Malone, and Schuck responded to an anonymous complaint about contaminated fill being dumped at a residence in the Town of Harrison.
Upon arrival, the officers observed two tri-axle trucks unloading fill material that included construction and demolition debris such as bricks, asphalt, plastic, and dimensional lumber.
Further investigation revealed additional historic contaminated fill with similar materials. Interviews with the truck drivers indicated the unlawful fill material originated from the City of Yonkers.
ECOs issued tickets to the associated companies and individuals for unlawful disposal of solid waste, operating an unregistered solid waste management facility, transporting solid waste without registration, and other violations. The case is returnable to Harrison Town Court.
