WHITE PLAINS, NY (October 18, 2026) — The Westchester County Fallen Firefighters Memorial Service took place to honor firefighters who lost their lives in the line of duty. The event was organized by the Westchester County Department of Emergency Services and several firefighting associations.

Westchester County Executive Ken Jenkins stated, “We come together today to pay tribute to those firefighters from Westchester County who gave their lives in the performance of duty. We owe these firefighters – and all those who loved and lost them – a great debt of gratitude.”

Stuart Bayer, President of the Westchester County Association of Fire Chiefs, added, “Each year we gather on a Sunday in October, not to mourn, but to honor the memory of firefighters from across Westchester County who made the ultimate sacrifice while protecting the communities in which they served.”

The memorial, established in 1991, is located at the Richard A. Flynn Fire Training Center in Valhalla. This year, 12 additional names were added to the memorial wall.
