English Language Learner Parent Conference at Isaac Young Middle School Tomorrow

On Saturday, November 21, 2009 the New Rochelle school district is hosting a parent conference for English Language Learners at the Isaac E. Young Middle. School. All are welcome to attend. The sessions will be held in Spanish.

The day will begin with a light breakfast at 9:30 am, followed by a general session at 10:00 am. Mr. Organisciak will start with welcoming remarks and Mr. Sanchez will address the New Rochelle Immigrant Path as a way to empower them. The parents will then break at about 10:50 am for the workshops. The first session will be at 11:00 am and the second at 12:00 pm, after a 10 minute break. All sessions will be on the same wing were the auditorium is located. Baby-sitting will be available in the school’s gym.

Isaac Young Middle School is located at 270 Centre Avenue in New Rochelle.

Listed below are the full names of the workshops. They will be in
Spanish, nevertheless, we need to provide handouts in both Spanish and
English:

1. How can you get your child to be “College Ready”? (Concrete
information on courses students must take in middle school and high
