  1. Skating
Just when the weekend comes and i would be able to strap on the skates it seems we have some forty degree weather coming. I spent many hours on Carpenters pond and the HS lakes and recall them as some of my fondest NR memories.

In the old days the Fire Department used to also flood the Gaby Lane basketball court for skating as well. It seems they could do this at Pinebrook as well.

I have talked to Commissioner Zimmerman and have asked him to see if the fire dept could spray down the frozen lakes after a day of skating. They get pretty beat up and the resurfacing would make this winter treasure that more enjoyable for day 2, 3 and so on.

    1. Yeah, the FD has nothing
Yeah, the FD has nothing better to do than “spray down” the lakes. Then come summertime the commish can send them to parties in the north end to play clowns, like he always does.

  2. Skating on the Twin Lakes at New Rochelle High School
Please note that only the south lake at New Rochelle High School (lake closest to Eastchester Road)is open for skating at this time.
