Brian O’Sullivan, 42, Leader of New Rochelle RELIG, Program Passes Away

Brian O’Sullivan, a lifelong resident of New Rochelle, died on January 12, 2010. He was 42.

Mr. O’Sullivan ran the RELIG program in new Rochelle and was a very well known young man in the community. RELIG provides Christian Community spiritual inspiration and faith formation for the Catholic Youth of New Rochelle. It is sponsored by the Catholic Parishes of Holy Name, St. Gabriel and Blessed Sacrament. RELIG conducts day and weekend overnight retreats, Christian Service Projects, Teen Leadership Training, social events & trips, and a Saturday drop-in center at the RELIG Home located at 112 Division Street.

Mr. O’Sullivan was born on December 24, 1967 in New Rochelle to the late Patrick and Gertrude Patricia (Page) O’Sullivan. He worked in food service at Iona College. He is survived by two sisters, Colleen Formisano and her husband Joseph of Port Jervis and Peggy O’Sullivan of New Rochelle; a brother, Kevin O’Sullivan of New Rochelle; and many loving nieces and nephews. Visiting Thursday 2-4 & 7-9pm at Lloyd Maxcy & Sons Beauchamp Chapel, 16 Shea Pl, New Rochelle. Mass Friday 10am at Holy Name Church. Interment at Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
