The Soap Box derby in New Rochelle is a great event. We have enjoyed attending over the years. It has a small town feel in the middle of our small city. In general when an event features hay bales, I am there!! Plus it is free –

Let’s get out and support our local New Rochelle Fire Department and our students from the New Rochelle school district. This year’s annual “All American Soap Box Derby” is this Sunday, June 6, 2010 at 9:00am. An all day event that you will be sure to love! This is going to be a great year!
You should see the trophies, too, really big and gold. Great for kids.
I highly recommend the food stand as well. Hot dogs and hamburgers, snacks, beverages, all served by volunteers. Great prices, too.
