New Rochelle Business Community Angry Over Lack of Downtown Police Presence

image1913160280.jpgDozens of downtown business and property owners gathered Monday in the wake of the daylight gang-related murder of Kevin Williams to discuss their concerns and possible solutions.

Jim Killorin, President of Habitat of Humanity of Westchester, proposed a Youth Outreach Committee and Citizen Safety Committee.

Cynthia Lobo, a candidate for City Judge and President of the Chamber of Commerce, expressed her condolences to the Williams Family.

Jared Rice, a candidate for City Council District 3, spoke of and deplored a “snitch” mentality that made some residents fear providing information to the police.

24 of 30 participants votes their support for installing a police kiosk in downtown.
