Perhaps the greatest compliment to Roxy Stowe’s brief tenure on the New Rochelle City Council is that an appointment that began with high drama in a packed City Council chamber ended with an audience of just six people including three reporters, two union representatives and one resident who mistakenly believed that the agenda included a Citizens to be Heard segment. In short, a nearly empty auditorium. Quite a contrast to the packed house that greeted her appointment with cheers back in September just one month after the unexpected passing of her husband, James Stowe.

With a “yes” vote on the 2011 budget and a surprising “no” vote on the Main Street Corridor agenda item, Roxy Stowe was thanked by Mayor Noam Bramson for her service, made some brief remarks and soon after left the chamber.
