Cherry-Picker to Begin Work Removing Upper Portion of Union Baptist Church Wall

The wall of the Union Baptist Church in New Rochelle is now a partially free-standing structure. As a result, the City Engineer John Clemente, in consultation with other engineers has made the determination that the upper triangle, above the circular window, must be removed.

A large cherry-picker has now been set up this morning on Main Street near Locust Avenue and will begin work immediately to remove the top portion of the wall.

Traffic in the area remains closed to vehicular traffic.
