  1. What can we do with Paint?
    Jim,

What can we do with paint? How do we dispose and does the county ever have a collection day for this or other building materials. i was stuck with a bunch of stuff from a previous owner and i have no clue how to dispose of properly.

    1. paint and cat litter
      Bruce,

      I believe…

You are supposed to get some cat litter, mix it in to the paint can until the paint is soaked up the the cat litter and put the now solid mixture out on the curb without the lids.

As we have some DPW experts on this site, I am sure folks can correct me if this is wrong.

Page 3 sort of addresses this

These items are not recyclable, Please place these items with your regular trash

      Metal
      • Empty motor oil cans
      • Kitchen utensils / cookware (pots, pans, etc.)
      • Paint cans (place empty cans in trash without lids)
      • Clothes hangers (Most dry cleaners accepts their hangers
back. So don’t throw them away, return them.)

    2. Bruce – Call the Recycling HelpLine
Call (914) 813-5425 and they can help you with your paint question.
