Written By: Robert Cox

MarianneSussmanMarianne Sussman, 71, City Council Member from District 6 and current Chairperson of the New Rochelle Industrial Development Agency, will not seek a fourth term this fall. Sussman, a Democrat came onto the New Rochelle City Council in 2000, is a partner in the law firm of Marcus, Gould & Sussman, LLP in White Plains, NY where she specializes in Estate Planning law. Sussman earned her law degree from New York University Law Schoool and under A.B. from Barnard College.

Sussman has received criticism over the past year after the New York State Comptroller issued a scathing report on the failure of the IDA to perform cost/benefit analysis of any of the real estate development projects supported by the IDA. Sussman has chaired the IDA since 2006.

  1. Sussman thank you and good bye.
It is time for a change !

But let’s see who step”s up to the plate

    1. A notable public servant
While I disagreed with Ms. Sussman about 90% of the time she should be recognized for her public service. I hope councilman Rice is not in line to take over as the IDA chairperson. Rice was like the Manchurian Candidate in reading his statement before voting on the resolution to give city council final approval of all tax abatements. It was obvious to every New Rochelle resident that Rice read a statement prepared by Mayor Bramson. The statement without the theatrics that Bramson employs prove Rice is a Bramson marionette who has a lot to learn.
