Talk of the Sound will be traveling to Dayton to cover Iona College’s first trip to the NCAA Tournament since 2006. Iona makes its ninth appearance in the NCAA Championship and first since the 2006 campaign. The team is officially 0-7 in the the NCAA Tournament after its 1980 appearance was vacated due to violations. The Gaels lost to Ole Miss in 2001 and Syracuse in 1998 by two points and had back-to-back one point defeats to Virginia and Loyola (Ill.) in 1984 and 1985.

This is Iona’s first ever at-large bid for the NCAA Tournament and will take on the West Coast Conference’s Brigham Young University (25-8).

We will be doing our best not just to report on the game but the team’s experience leading up to the game. We will have regular reports and tweets from Dayton.
