PromDressesOperation Prom will be honoring County Executive Robert P. Astorino and Commissioner of Social Services Kevin M. McGuire at its first fashion show fundraising event, on Tuesday from 6-9 p.m. at Westchester Manor in Hastings-on-Hudson.

The contestants from the recent Miss Westchester pageant will be modeling dresses that are available for girls, as part of Operation Prom’s work to collect used prom dresses and distribute them to those who cannot afford to buy a new gown. Last year, the program distributed more than 3,200 gowns in the Westchester and greater New York City area.

Astorino and McGuire will be honored for their continuing support of the program, founded by Noel D’Allacco. Westchester County has been helping Operation Prom in a variety of ways, including publicizing information about the program and providing storage space for the gowns and tuxedos.

The event host will be Jené Luciani, a fashion journalist, stylist and regular correspondent and contributor to a number of national media outlets, including NBC’s TODAY, the Style Network and Martha Stewart Living Radio.

Beginning April 10, the program will be distributing the dresses. For a list of locations and other information about the program, go to www.Westchestergov.com or www.helpprom.org.
