Two people were assaulted this afternoon about 3:30 p.m. in downtown New Rochelle near the intersection of North Avenue and Huegenot Street. The pair were attacked by a group of teens, perhaps as many of three or four, based on preliminary reports.
The victims fled the scene and made their way to the bathroom at the New Rochelle train station. Police were called by people at the train station who reported two men in the bathroom with blood on them.
New Rochelle police, firefighters and paramedics were on the scene. The victims were being treated for head injuries.
