NEW ROCHELLE, NY — The Hudson Valley Women’s Athletic Conference (HVWAC) released its weekly Cross Country awards today and The College of New Rochelle freshman Tayler Fisher (Wilmington, DE/Conrad School of Science) has been named the HVWAC Cross Country Rookie of the Week.
Fisher paced the Blue Angels in their season opener at the Army Open on the challenging West Point Golf Course in West Point, NY. The 5K course, which was extended by a quarter-mile due to course reconstruction, was covered by the freshman in 27:31 in her first collegiate race.
Other schools that competed in the meet were US Military Academy, Ramapo College, Monroe College, US Merchant Marine Academy, SUNY Maritime and City College of New York.
CNR returns to action this weekend at the Purchase College Invitational, to be held on September 8. The race is scheduled to begin at 11:30 AM.
