Rose L. Zirolnik, New Rochelle Nurse

Rose L. Zirolnik, 96, resident of New Rochelle NY for over 60 years, passed away on Saturday, August 31, 2013 in the comfort of her home surrounded by her family. She was born on May 29, 1917 in Manhattan, NY. Married to Samuel Zirolnik for 34 years, who pre-deceased her in 1975. Survived by her children, Peter, Joan, Andrew, her 4 grandchildren, and 3 great grandchildren. Became a nurse at Bellevue Hospital, where she received her RN degree, and later served as a Head Nurse at New Rochelle Hospital and a Nursing Supervisor at United Hebrew Home of New Rochelle. Later went on to teach Nurse’s Aides and LPNs. Was also a volunteer at the New Rochelle Head Start Pre-Kindergarten program for several years.

Services will be held graveside, 10:30am on Monday Sept. 2 at Sharon Gardens Kensico Cemetery, located at 273 Lakeview Ave, Valhalla NY, 10595. Following the services, the family will receive guests at 22 Wilson Drive, New Rochelle NY, 10801, where Shiva will be held (following services on Monday) and from 3-8pm through Wednesday evening.
