IEYMS Field TracksNEW ROCHELLE, NY — A custodian at the Isaac E. Young Middle School in New Rochelle is facing disciplinary charges after driving his Toyota Tacoma pick up truck on the soccer field in front of the school to chase a large flock of geese off the field.

This incident occurred shortly after 7 a.m. this morning.

A witness who asked not to be identified said the truck wheels were spinning around, kicking up mud, leaving large gouges across the field as over 100 geese scrambled to get out of the way.

A report was filed with the Westchester County SPCA.

The field was deemed unsafe to play and closed until further notice as a result of the incident.

The custodian drove off the field, parked his truck in the front Isaac parking lot and stood next to his vehicle sipping a cup of coffee, admiring his handiwork, according to one observer.

School officials were notified and quickly located the vehicle. The tires, wheel wells and sides of the vehicle were spattered with mud.

    1. So, what will happen now?
      In the grand labor relations tradition at IYMS, this custodian will likely:

      a) get a promotion to Lead or Head Custodian at IYMS;

      b) transferred to another school with a different shift and get an increase differential; or

      c)Simply nothing will happen since no one cares in administration and the union sees, hears and says nothing. Essentially, no record will be created and a year from now, no one will remember.

      In the meantime, our children cannot use the field for soccer or any other sport: there is no money to replant or reseed the field (there’s is no time for it to grow anyway) so it’s a lost cause all around.

      BTW, any comment from Marty Daly or Mr. Bongo? Also, who is the bozo that did this?
