New Rochelle, NY—United Citizens For A Better New Rochelle and the United Veterans Memorial & Patriotic Association have announced a joint rally to be held on the steps of City Hall tomorrow at 6 PM. The rally will take place during the City Council Meeting, afterwards people are encouraged to attend Citizens to be Heard where many of those in attendance will be speaking individually.
Residents are encouraged to bring their “Stop Echo Bay lawn signs” to the rally and to Citizens to be Heard.
Some the reasons why this rally has been called are as follows:
- To put a stop to Forest City’s political profiteering in New Rochelle.
- Demand fiscally responsible development.
- Protest the city’s plan to surpass the state imposed tax cap for the 2014 budget along with various tax and fee increases.
The Echo Bay project has moved beyond debate of the pros and cons of the project. Cause of Action’s second part of their investigative report warns us in no uncertain terms that the Echo Bay project has all the hallmarks of Forest City’s bait and switch tactics and political profiteering.
It poses the question: Is New Rochelle Forest City’s next victim? It is up to you as a citizen of New Rochelle to say NO! The only way you can do that is by being involved. Please make every effort to attend this historic rally.
