NEW ROCHELLE, NY — New Rochelle Police arrested Jamarie Flowers, 25, an off-duty New York City Police Officer, following a shooting incident at 1:14 a.m. this morning.
Flowers was charged with Reckless Endangerment First Degree. A semi-automatic handgun believed to have been used in this incident was recovered in Flowers’ apartment.
According to witnesses, Flowers fired off multiple rounds in the parking lot at the Carrington Arms Community House at 33 Lincoln Avenue where he resides prompting numerous calls to police from area residents.
One Carrington Arms resident called police to say she thought a bullet went through a window in her third floor apartment.
“New Rochelle police patrol units responded to a report of shots fired in the vicinity of 33 Lincoln Avenue. Investigation at the scene disclosed that several people had
been involved in an oral dispute in front of 33 Lincoln Avenue, and that as the dispute appeared to end Flowers discharged several rounds from a handgun into the air.”
Police were unable to confirm the report of a bullet through a window.
“The shots do not appear to have been directed towards any specific individuals and we have no reports of any injuries or property damage related to this incident.”
This is the second arrest of an off-duty NYPD officer this week.
On Wednesday, Brendan Cronin, 27, an off-duty NYPD officer from Yonkers pulled over on the side of the road in Pelham and suddenly opened fire on a passing car. He was initially charged by police with driving while intoxicated.
Cronin was arraigned at Pelham Town Court on Thursday and charged with felony assault charge, which carries a maximum sentence of 25 years in prison.
The victim, Joseph Felice, was driven by a friend to Montefiore New Rochelle Hospital immediately after the shooting where the pair reported the incident to New Rochelle police.
Carrington Arms was the site of another shooting last month involving two Monroe College football players. In that incident, a bullet went through the window of a Dentist’s office on the first floor of the Carrington Arms Community House.
In that incident, New Rochelle police made two arrests.
Rudolph Henriquez, 21, of Irvington, NJ and Khalil Burns, 21, of Linden, NJ were arrested on April 7th, three days after the incident, following a police investigation that relied on new security cameras installed at various New Rochelle traffic intersections.
Henriquez was charged with 1st Degree Assault, a class B Felony, 2nd Degree Criminal Possession of a Weapon, a class C Felony, and 4th Degree Criminal Facilitation, a class A Misdemeanor.
Burns, 21 Linden NJ was charged with 1st Degree Assault, a class B Felony, 1st Degree Reckless Endangerment, a class D Felony, and 2nd Degree Criminal Possession of a Weapon, a class C Felony.

LOHUD: Off-duty NYPD officer arrested in New Rochelle shooting
Flowers was arraigned Saturday morning and taken to Westchester County jail. Bail was set at $10,000.
A spokesperson for the NYPD said Flowers, a three-year veteran stationed in the Bronx, has been suspended.

The problem is with crazy off-duty NYC Policemen.
That’s what we need protection from.
And no doubt the same NYC Policemen are even crazier when on duty.
