NEW ROCHELLE, NY — The New Rochelle Public Library Board of Trustees has announced that Library Trustee Bernardo Nunez is moving out of the community this summer, leaving a vacancy on the library’s board. Mr. Nunez was elected to a five-year term in 2012.

To fill the vacancy for the reminder of Mr. Nunez’s third year of service, which will conclude on June 30, 2015, the Board is seeking applications from New Rochelle residents interested in being considered for the temporary position. Resumes or biographical statements may be sent to the New Rochelle Board of Trustees Nominating Committee, NRPL, 1 Library Plaza, New Rochelle, NY 10801, before August 22, 2014. The board will review the submissions and fill the appointment at their September 11h Board of Trustees Meeting.

The annual Library election in May, 2015, will include elections for two library trustee positions: one for the regularly-scheduled election of a trustee for a 5-year term, and one to complete the fourth and fifth years of Mr. Nunez’s former seat. The candidate who receives the most votes will serve the five-year term.

The Library Board of Trustees meets in the library’s Ossie Davis Theater on the second Thursday of each month at 7:30 pm, with a public-to-be-heard session at 8:15 pm. There is no regularly-scheduled meeting in August.
