Robert M. Sutton “Coach Sutton” Passes

Robert M. Sutton “Coach Sutton”, a lifelong resident of New Rochelle died on September 7, 2014. He was 73.
Robert was born on January 26, 1941 in New Rochelle to the late Thomas and Josephine (Rispole) Sutton. He was a Social Studies Teacher at Walt Whitman School from 1964-1967, then at Lincoln High School in Yonkers from 1968-1998, where he also coached football and girls basketball. He also coached lacrosse at Scarsdale High School and Iona College. He was the president of The Foresters Club Court Sons of Italy in New Rochelle.
He is survived by his three children Kristin (Scott) Sutton Hillman, Amy (Donn) Sutton McNamee and Beau Sutton; his four grandchildren Ana and Nicholas Hillman and Olivia and Marin McNamee; and his brother Thomas Sutton.
Visiting hours will be Wednesday 2-4 & 6-9pm at Lloyd Maxcy & Sons Beauchamp Chapel Inc., 16 Shea Pl. New Rochelle where he will be eulogized on Wednesday 8pm. A funeral Mass is scheduled for Thursday 10am at St. Joseph’s Church 280 Washington Avenue New Rochelle. Interment will be private.
