The Chamber of Commerce and the City of New Rochelle carry on a festive tradition this year on Thursday, December 4th at Memorial Plaza in Downtown New Rochelle. The Annual Lighting of the Christmas Tree, Hanukkah Menorah, and Kwanzaa Candles will be conducted by religious leaders of the New Rochelle Community starting promptly at 5:30 PM.

Anyone is invited to this complimentary event as each spiritual leader will represent the solemnity and spirit of their respective holiday in a short service.

The ceremony will signify the unity of the diverse and harmonious community of New Rochelle as they come together to celebrate the joy of the season. There will be carols sung by the well known Songcatchers and anyone who chooses to sing along.

At the conclusion of the ceremony, none other than Santa Claus himself will appear compliments of his good friends at the New Rochelle Fire Department. Of course, Santa, as always, is jolly and happy to meet anyone who made the nice list!
