Summer Movie Making and Acting Camp

Week 1: Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland – July 6-10

Just in time for the 150th anniversary of Lewis Carroll’s classic children’s tale, join us for a week of movie-making inspired by Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland. Be enchanted by Alice, the White Rabbit, the Cheshire Cat, and all of the characters in this fantastical story as we learn about story-telling, acting, and directing. Enjoy your finished film on the big screen at The Picture House in September at the Education@TPH Student Celebration, and take home a link to your movie too!

Week 2: Animation Vacation – July 13-17

Each day you will be exposed to the different aspects of animation, from stop motion, to claymation, to Lego animation. Create short animated films and watch them screened on the big screen at The Picture House at the Education@TPH Student Celebration, and take home a link to your movie as well!

 Week 3: Make a Music Video – July 20-24

Join us for a week of making a music video to two popular songs that the students love. Whether you are an actor or director, we’ll have a place for you on or off screen! Learn songs, dance moves, how to construct a story, and how to work the camera. Enjoy your finished film on the big screen at The Picture House in September at the Education@TPH Student Celebration, and take home a link to your movie too!

Week 4: Comedy Acting and Improv – July 27-31

Learn about the art of comedy acting and improv while working as a group to explore characters, drama skills, and improvised scenes. The class will culminate with a live improv show on The Picture House stage and the students will perform an encore at the Education@TPH Student Celebration in September!

The cost for The Picture House summer program is $300 per week for half-days and $495 per week for full-days. Snack is provided each day and lunch is provided on Fridays.
