Astorino Announces New Travel And Tourism Publication for Westchester County

WHITE PLAINS, N.Y. – Westchester County Executive Robert P. Astorino announced the publication of the 2015 Westchester Destination Guide, the official tourism and travel guide to Westchester County. The 70-page magazine is a valuable resource for both visitors and residents.

The free guide, printed annually by the county’s Office of Tourism & Film, is available for distribution by calling the tourism office at (800) 833-9282 or (914) 995-8500, or by emailing info@visitwestchesterny.com.  It is also available for pick up at the Westchester County Office Building in White Plains, the Westchester County Airport, county hotels, conference facilities and other information centers throughout the region. “We have a thriving tourism and travel industry in Westchester County that generates close to $1.7 billion annually, supports thousands of jobs and provides millions in tax revenue for the local economy,” said Astorino. “The destination guide is one of the many tools used to promote the many businesses that benefit from travel, tourism and visitor spending in our county.”

The newly formatted and redesigned guide contains information on hotels and conference centers, arts and cultural attractions, restaurants and nightlife, entertainment and shopping as well as a wide variety of recreational opportunities.  In addition to a listing of the county’s best sites and venues, the guide includes extensive information on events and activities happening throughout the area. A fold-out map of Westchester with highlighted points of interest is also included to assist visitor’s navigate the county and plan itineraries.
