NEW ROCHELLE, NY — The College of New Rochelle Women’s Tennis team fell to 0-3 on the season after dropping a match to Sarah Lawrence College 9-0, in a non-conference match at Andrews Courts on Wednesday. The victory is the Gryphons’ fifth in a row.

SLC improves to 21-2-1 all-time against CNR, and the Gryphons have not lost to the Blue Angels since 2001.

The teams started with singles matches, where Sarah Lawrence won all six matches.  Then in doubles play, SLC won 2 of the 3 matches by an 8-0 shutout.  The 1st doubles match was won by the Gryphons 8-1.

CNR’s closest match was in No. 1 singles.  Junior Deanna Tozzo (Shrub Oak, NY) ended up on the short end of a 6-2, 6-3 result. Her opponent Nora Landes picked up her first individual win of the season.

CNR opens HVIAC play when they travel to Pratt Institute on Saturday for a 12:00 pm start.
