NEW ROCHELLE, NY — The College of New Rochelle fell to 1-3 on the season with a 68-40 loss to the College of Mount Saint Vincent, Wednesday night in non-conference action. CMSV improved to 1-2 on the season with the win.

Again the Blue Angels jumped out to an early 3-0 lead on a three-pointer by sophomore Hannah Cambel (Houston, TX) and moments later would take their largest lead of the night on another triple by freshmen Amirror Dixon (New Rochelle, NY).  The teams would go on a back and forth battle over the remainder of the first quarter and nearly nine minutes of the second frame.  With 1:02q remaining in the half and the Dolphins holding a narrow 28-24 lead, CNR made several crucial turnovers that led to six unanswered points and a 10-point halftime deficit for CNR.

The Dolphins started off the 2nd half with a 4-for-4 shooting performance that blossomed the lead to 45-24.  That run proved too much for CNR to overcome, as the Dolphins controlled the rest of the game, en route to the win.  CNR ended up shooting just 22% from the field while CMSV finished at 43%.  Both teams were a bit careless with the ball, as they combined for 31 tunrovers – 16 by CNR.

Cambel led CNR with 13 points, while senior Jasmine Brandon (Jersey City, NJ) added 10. Sophomore Caitlin Harrison (Bronx, NY) led the Blue Angels on the board with a season-high 11 boards.

CNR is back in action when they travel to Keystone College for a non-conference battle on Friday evening.
