With 34 ticks remaining, Guerra tallied his second of the game to put the Gaels back up by three. The Gaels could not hold the three goal lead , as the Seahawks found a late goal to cut the score to 5-3 heading into halftime.

The second half was a struggle for the Maroon and Gold, as they were held scoreless and conceded their lead. With 2:42 remaining in the third quarter, Wagner found the back of the net to cut the Iona lead to 5-4. The Seahawks scored two more goals in the opening 1:08 of the fourth quarter to give themselves their first lead of the game, 6-5.
