NEW ROCHELLE, NY — The Iona track & field outdoor program was presented on the West Coast Friday evening at the Stanford Invitational and the San Francisco State Distance Carnival.
In Stanford, Johannes Motschmann placed ninth in the invite 3,000 meter steeplechase for the Gaels. The junior clocked in at 8:50.80. It was his first steeplechase race of the season.
In the second section of the 5,000 meter event, Chartt Miller earned 14th place with a time of 14:09.88. Meanwhile, in the invite section of the 10,000 meter, Gilbert Kirui recorded a personal best of 28:54.90 for 19th place.
Throughout the day, the Gaels also recorded a pair of DNFs as Kieran Clements did record a time in the invite section at the 5,000 meter in Stanford while Andrew Tario was not able to finish the 10,000 meter at the San Francisco State Distance Carnival.
