Pelham Woman Charged in Wrong-Way Crash On The Hutch

VALHALLA, NY — A Pelham woman was formally charged on Wednesday night with a felony and two misdemeanors in connection to the wrong-way crash that occurred the previous night on the Hutchinson River Parkway in New Rochelle.

Joanna Logan, 42, of Wolfs Lane was taken into custody by Westchester County Police following her release from Jacobi Medical Center in the Bronx last night. She was charged with Reckless Endangerment 1st Degree, a felony, and Driving While Intoxicated and Reckless Driving, misdemeanors.

She was arraigned last night in Eastchester Town Court and bail was set at $5,000.  She is scheduled to appear on May 24 in New Rochelle City Court.

Logan is charged with driving her 2015 Honda Accord northbound in the southbound lanes of travel on the Hutch in the vicinity of Weaver Street about 10:40 p.m. before colliding with three other cars.  She suffered a serious head injury and was admitted to Jacobi Medical Center.

Three other motorists suffered non-life-threatening injuries and one person refused medical attention at the scene.

Logan was traveling alone at the time of the crash.  It remains undetermined where she entered the parkway and the investigation is continuing.
