City of New Rochelle Now Accepting Applications for Police Commissioner

NEW ROCHELLE, NY — The City of New Rochelle launched a national search seeking an experienced leader in law enforcement to be the next Police Commissioner.

Candidates must have 10 years of experience and demonstrated performance as a Law Enforcement Executive, administering progressive policing policies for diverse organizations and communities. Candidates should have a bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice, Public Administration, or a closely related field. A master’s Degree is preferred.

The Police Commissioner should foster an excellent culture and environment within the department that adheres to the law, advances community engagement, implements best practices, supports innovation and technology, respects diversity, and demonstrates accountability, noted City Manager Charles B. Strome, III.

“The Police Commissioner is responsible for leading a superior department, comprised of men and women who are dedicated professionals and who represent each segment of our community,” Strome continued. “Our new Commissioner will continue the department’s mission to provide quality police service that merits the public’s trust and ensures the overall success and general welfare of our community.”
