NEW ROCHELLE, NY — The College of New Rochelle (CNR) has formed a new partnership with the 1199SEIU Training and Employment Funds (TEF), a major regional healthcare labor management fund, that will provide tuition discounts to both 1199SEIU members as well as 1199SEIU contributing employers. The discounts will apply for all programs at The College of New Rochelle, including the School of Arts & Sciences, the Graduate School and the School of Nursing & Healthcare Professions.

According to Kevin Cavanagh, the College’s Executive Vice President of Strategy and Planning, this partnership expands the College’s existing relationship with the TEF by providing currently enrolled members – as well as incoming members – special benefits for education.

“The College of New Rochelle continues to grow as a regional force in healthcare education. We are extremely gratified to have formalized our partnership with TEF, servicing members of the largest and fastest-growing healthcare union in the nation,” Cavanagh said. “This new affiliation allows CNR and TEF to further advance the education of the region’s healthcare professionals and in doing so improve the region’s healthcare overall.”

A big emphasis of this partnership will be on the College’s RN to BSN program, a program for registered nurses to earn bachelor’s degrees in nursing, as well as the College’s master-level programs in nursing and public administration.

“We are excited to be partnering with The College of New Rochelle to provide our members with expanded access to high quality educational opportunities,” said Denise Cherenfant, Director, Nursing Education for 1199SEIU Training and Employment Funds.
