09/08 BID Farmers Market’s Fall Performances Begin with Bokandeye African Dance and Drums Troupe 12 PM

NEW ROCHELLE, NY — The Saturday “Grand Market” in Ruby Dee Park at Library Green will feature a free performance by the popular Bokandeye African Dance and Drum Troupe on Saturday, September 8th, from 12:00 noon – 1:00 pm. Under the direction of Anthony Wooden, the traditional sounds and movements of Africa come to life, as Bokandeye’s costumed dancers perform to the exuberant beats of the drums. 

The free Market performances will continue with these popular children’s entertainers and musicians: 

September 15: Zev Haber; September 22: Louis Miranda; and September 29: Kurt Gallagher.

The Grand Market, sponsored by the New Rochelle Downtown Business Improvement District, (BID), is a farmers market with a festival atmosphere. Each Saturday, from 9:00 am – 2:00 pm, through October 28th, the Grand Market will feature farm-fresh products, gourmet and artisan items, and delicious prepared foods. Market-goers of all ages enjoy the family-friendly entertainment, games, crafts and festive atmosphere. The family performances are offered through BID Family Days, which are made possible through a partnership with the BID, New Rochelle Public Library, Department of Parks and Recreation, and the New Rochelle City School District.
