New Rochelle FUSE Union Plans Another Friday Action; No Progress to Report on DiRienzo Investigation

Written By: Robert Cox

NEW ROCHELLE, NY — With no change to report in investigations into two high profile suspensions by the New Rochelle Board of Education, the FUSE is planning a rally at City Hall on Friday afternoon.

FUSE President Martin Daly called the actions of District leadership punitive, heavy-handed and deliberate.

“There is no progress to report and the Board’s into members who were very publicly suspended continue to drag on with no resolution, said Daly in an email sent Wednesday afternoon to members.

“It is especially insulting that after over a week, the district has still not interviewed Lou Direnzo — thus effectively prohibiting him from being able to coach the team at this weekend’s playoff game.”

Daly said the union will stage another action on Friday afternoon at 4:00 at City Hall.

  1. Please ask Martin Daly why the union has not gone to court to try and get a stay on this terrible situation and maybe getting the board to tell him what coach d is being charged with and why he hasn’t been talked to. Also will they file a freedam of information request asking for all email texts phone calls correspondence with all who are involved like superintendent all board members athletic director and principal etc. will they be calling the commissioner of education in ny to maybe arbertrate this situation.
